Visit the World's Largest Amish Community

1st Day: Today we travel to the world’s largest Amish community – the Ohio Amish Country.  On our way we'll be stopping in West Virginia at the New River Gorge Bridge, where there are two overlooks that give spectacular and breathtaking views of the wild New River and the New River Gorge. At one time, the Bridge was the longest in the world. We then travel on to Berlin Ohio, our home for the next two nights.  We will have dinner on our own in the area.

2nd Day: This morning we’ll meet our local guide. . . born and raised in the area for a Guided Tour of Amish Country.  Taking as many backroads as possible, we will go to the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. Discover the heritage of the Ohio Amish Country! We will see how the Amish people live and why. Experience a tour of Behalt Cyclorama – the stunning 260-foot mural-in-the-round depicting the history of the Amish and Mennonites. Enjoy a video, as well as displays, to learn more about local life, faith, culture and beliefs.  We will then depart for Ohio Market, Amish Country’s newest shopping market in Berlin, OH. Ohio Market has everything from handmade rugs made on a 100-year-old loom in the building, to modern home interior accessories, live-edge furniture, unique wall accents, as well as antiques handpicked across the country. We will then depart for Main Street Berlin for shopping and lunch in the area. Enjoy this quaint town with a collection of more than 70 restaurants, lodging, events, and shops. Next stop is Lamp and Light Candle where you'll get to watch Amish ladies create one of their beautifully carved candles!  There's lots of other things to shop for as well. We then head to Walnut Creek Cheese. It's one of the largest bulk food stores in the area and a great place to buy spices in bulk, fresh meats, cheese and an in-house bakery that specializes in cinnamon rolls. They also have the best ice cream cones around. We will make a quick stop at the hotel before heading out to an Amish Home Meal. Enjoy a family style feast and fellowship with the family. You will learn more about how they live without all the modern technology.  After dinner, we go to the Amish Country Theater, a new Amish Country must-see! The theater features a family comedy variety show that is guaranteed to entertain the whole family. This unique show includes live music, hilarious actors, a nationally recognized ventriloquist, and more. Returning to the hotel after the show. (CB, D)

3rd Day: This morning we will visit the Warther Museum. Walk through the museum on a guided tour and view the woodcarvings of steam engines created by Mooney Warther, they are priceless works of art!!!  View Mrs. Warthers button collection featuring over 70,000 buttons arranged in art work. After our visit we will head home. Arriving back approximately 7:00 PM. (CB)
