A quick rule: book for your actual headcount plus a small margin, not for the exact number on your list. Groups grow between booking and departure more often than they shrink.

Standard on every coach:

Outlets and WiFi are assigned by coach rather than fitted to every unit, so request them when you submit your quote if your group needs to work or charge en route.

If you're still not sure which to choose, here are a few things to consider: 

1. Start with headcount: Add a margin for late additions and chaperones.

2. Check the trip length: For longer tours or larger groups, take the 50-passenger extra-legroom configuration if the group fits.

3. Check the destinations: Narrow streets, small lots, and older venues favor the 38 or the 30.

4. List what you need on board: Outlets, WiFi, wheelchair access, and card tables must be requested at the time of the quote.

5. Call if you are between sizes: A travel associate can tell you what has worked for similar groups on the same route.

Every coach is maintained in-house by our own technicians under more than 60 preventative maintenance programs. Most charter operators send this work out. We have held a Satisfactory DOT safety rating, the highest the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issues, since we started.

How many people does a charter bus hold? 

A full-size motorcoach typically holds 50 to 56 passengers. Our Prevost coaches come in 50- and 56-passenger configurations, with a 38-passenger mid-size coach and a 30-passenger mini coach also available.

Do coach buses have outlets? 

All of Holiday's motorcoaches have power outlets. They assign outlets by coach rather than fitting them to every unit, so ask for outlets when you submit your quote request.

Do coach buses have WiFi? 

WiFi is available on request on Holiday's full-size and mid-size motorcoaches. Like power outlets, it is assigned by coach, so include it in your quote request if your group needs connectivity en route.

What is the difference between a coach bus and a school bus? 

A coach bus is built for long-distance travel, with reclining seats, climate control, undercarriage luggage storage, and a raised passenger deck. A school bus is built for short routes with bench seating and no luggage compartment. Holiday operates coaches, not school buses.

How much luggage can a motorcoach carry? 

Holiday's coaches carry luggage in an undercarriage compartment separate from the passenger cabin. Capacity varies by coach type: the Prevost H3-45 offers 460 cubic feet, the Temsa TS-35 offers 215 cubic feet, and the Temsa TS-30 offers 141 cubic feet.

Are wheelchair accessible motorcoaches available?

Yes. Wheelchair accessible configurations are available on Holiday's full-size coaches. Request accessibility when you submit your quote so the right coach is assigned in advance.
