5 Irish Pubs in Manhattan With Delicious Food

As one of the biggest melting pots of cultures in the world, there is no shortage of amazing Irish pubs in Manhattan. Here are five of the best pubs in New York City, all serving up delicious food, refreshing Irish drinks, and a welcoming vibe.

The Landmark Tavern

Opened in 1868, this former speakeasy is rich in history and tradition. The long mahogany bar is the perfect place to pull up a stool and order a Guinness while you connect with the other pub patrons. Choose a classic dish such as Irish bangers and mash or go with something a little more upscale such as the lobster ravioli or the Long Island duck breast.

Molly's

This traditional pub is located in Gramercy Park, delivering a quintessential New York City experience. The sawdust floors, low ceilings, and wood-burning fireplace set the tone for your dining and drinking experience. Start your meal off with a pint of one of the many classic Irish beers on tap. Then move on to a dish of comfort food such as shepherd's pie and lamb stew.

P.J. Carney’s Pub

With a convenient location right next to Central Park, this pub is a great choice when out exploring the beauty of New York City. This pub serves a tasty traditional dish of shepherd’s pie with fish and chips. It also has some great american classics including quesadillas, barbeque chicken wings, and P.J. Carney’s famous 8 oz burger. When traveling to P.J. Carney's you will want to be cautious around central park bicyclists who might not always see you in time to put on the brakes.

McSorley’s Old Ale House

This iconic East Village joint opened in 1854 and claims to be the city's oldest pub. So, it is no surprise that McSorley's oozes history in every corner. While the pub offers a full menu of drinks, you have to try the famous McSorley's Ale when you visit. Note that although the pub is family-friendly during the day, no children are allowed in after 6 pm.

Peter McManus Cafe

This Chelsea hotspot invites you in and encourages you to stay with its warm wood paneling, carved mahogany bar, and the three gorgeous Tiffany stained glass cabinets. One of the cabinets even has a bullet hole in it, an indication of the storied history of this pub. You will enjoy a variety of specialties, including roasted turkey and the award-winning burgers.

All five of these locations boast mouth-watering food, classic Irish drinks, and the hospitable vibe that you expect from this inviting culture. So, pull up a stool and have a drink!
